PLK City coach: When did he join Pirates?

Polokwane City head coach Phuti Mohafe is in disbelief following the transfer of arguably the best player in his squad, Oswin Appollis, to Orlando Pirates.

Appollis is the latest Orlando Pirates recruit with this website having revealed on Tuesday that he was set to be a major focus of the current transfer window.

Mohafe says he will believe the news once he meets with club chairman Johhny Mologadi.

The Bafana Bafana international had also been linked with Bucs' arch-rivals Kaizer Chiefs as well as Mamelodi Sundowns.

"My man, I don't know if that is true or what. When did he join Orlando Pirates because I have just left training and I was with him at training?" says a bemused Mohafe, speaking exclusively to KickOff.com.

"So I don't know... when did he join Pirates?

"But I'm not shocked, maybe a bit surprised because you will never know what's happening during the night.

"So, I will only believe the news about Appollis when I don't see him at training. When the boss tells me I will no longer see Appollis at training, that's when I will believe he is gone. That's the only time I will accept the decision.

"But again, already last season I had players who are better than Appollis but were not playing. So, if he goes, it's fine. It won't be a big loss," he goes on.

Mohafe says it's all systems go at the Limpopo-based outfit ahead of next season, with their first game against Appollis' new team in the MTN8 quarterfinals.

"There is no stress this side, everything is going accordingly. You know us, we always go about our business quietly.

"There is players coming, but we're not going to tell anyone who we are bringing in. Our target for next season is winning our games."
