Esquivel has signed a one-year deal in Greece, becoming the second former Masandawana player to move to the division in 2025/26, following Junior Mendieta, who now plays for Asteras Tripolis.
In a statement on Instagram, Greek outfit Kifisia wrote:
"Kifisia FC announces the start of a partnership with Matías Eduardo Esquivel, who plays as an attacking midfielder.
"Matías Eduardo Esquivel has signed a one-year contract.
Kifisia FC welcomes him to the club’s family and wishes him health, luck, and every success."
It's unclear whether Kifisia have signed the Argentine star on a season-long loan or a permanent deal.
The 26-year-old's time at Chloorkop was quite uneventful, as the player only made 16 appearances for Downs in all competitions, registering just two goals and one assist in the process.
