OFFICIAL: Ex-Downs star joins new European club

A star once involved in a notorious fallout with coach Pitso Mosimane at Mamelodi Sundowns has now joined a new club in Europe.

Guinea-Bissau international Toni Silva has officially signed for Zabbar St Patrick, a top-flight club in Malta.

In South Africa, Silva is remembered for his public spat with Mosimane after their time together at Sundowns in the 2018/19 season was cut short after just six months.

"He went on to enjoy several stints across Europe before joining Kazma SC in Kuwait, where he was last playing.

"An international player for Guinea-Bissau, Toni has already earned 22 caps for his national team, bringing top-level experience, pace and creativity to our attack.

"Toni, Welcome to Zabbar"

Silva showed great promise during his youth career, spending time at the prestigious academies of Benfica, Chelsea, and Liverpool.

His nomadic career has seen him ply his trade in England, Portugal, Turkey, Greece, Romania, Kuwait, Egypt, South Africa, and now Malta.
