Real Madrid have completed their fourth signing of the transfer window as new coach Xabi Alonso continues to build his squad.
The Spanish giants have announced the signing of full-back Álvaro Carreras from Portuguese giants Benfica in a deal reportedly €50million (R1billion).

The former Manchester United left-back has put pen-to-paper on a six-year deal with Los Blancos.
"Real Madrid CF and Sport Lisboa e Benfica have reached an agreement for the transfer of Álvaro Carreras, who remains tied to our club for the next six seasons, until June 30, 2031," the club announced on their website.
"Álvaro Carreras' presentation will take place tomorrow, Tuesday, at 1:00 p.m., at Real Madrid City.
"Previously, Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez will welcome Carreras for the formal signing ceremony that links our new player to the club for the next six seasons.
"After the presentation, Carreras will address the media in the press room at Real Madrid City."
