Nwabali, who was previously linked with a host of clubs in the 2024/25 season, continues to attract interest following his standout performances at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.

The 29-year-old played a key role in helping Nigeria reach the AFCON final, where they narrowly lost to the host.

His AFCON heroics boosted his profile significantly, with clubs like Queens Park Rangers expressing interest in securing his services. During the January transfer window, the towering keeper openly expressed a desire to join Chiefs, stating that playing for the Naturena-based club was a dream.

Despite his strong wish, Amakhosi opted to sign Fiacre Ntwari from TS Galaxy instead. Now, as he eyes a step up from the Chilli Boys, Nwabali has been linked with a move to Raja Athletic Club ahead of the 2025/26 season.

According to a report from Africa Foot, negotiations between the Botola Pro League side and Nwabali’s representatives are well underway, with both parties said to be in advanced talks.
