Manchester United thrashed League One outfit Barnsley 7-0 in the Carabao Cup third round on Tuesday evening.
It was a make-shift eleven from the host where goalkeeper Altay Bayindir, Toby Collyer, Jonny Evans, Alejandro Garnacho, Carlos Casemiro and Manuel Ugarte earned a start.
Forward Marcus Rashford continued his rich vein of form after the opening quarter after he stepped inside of the area from a tight angle and slammed in the top corner.
The Red Devils doubled the lead ten minutes before halftime when a foul in the six-yard area resulted in a penalty and the self-same Antony made no mistake but executed comfortably.
Argentine Garnacho added to the visitors' woes just inside the interval after he latched onto a through pass to the area and finished smartly.
Barnsley were in further trouble following the break as Garnacho bagged a brace when he met a timeous ball in-behind from Christian Eriksen and coolly fired in the back of the net.
Garnacho's dream evening out on the field continued twelve minutes from halftime this as he managed to feed a telling ball to Rashford to go clear and rattle the net.
With total control of matters, the Red Devils added fresh set of legs later on where Joshua Zirkzee replaced Rashford, Bruno Fernandes in for Ugarte and Noussair Mazraoui filled in for Diogo Dalot.
The Red Devils remained in control ten minutes before time and added a sixth after Eriksen made a late run to the near post and tucked in a first-time cutback.
Eriksen completed a brace in the final five minutes when he slammed in a reverse pass from the edge of the area as Barnsley failed to clear their lines.
The host were in dream land as the clash began to wind down and cruised to a comfortable victory and safe passage to the fourth round.
