Operating more in the background since Kaizer Motaung Jr. was appointed Sporting Director, Kaizer Chiefs Football Manager Bobby Motaung has opened up on whether he'd consider retiring.
'BobSteak' was more hands-on, the face and perhaps even the boss of the football side of things at Chiefs over the years, but since Kaizer Jr. was appointed as the Sporting Director in 2021, a position which did not exist, his older brother appeared to be less in the limelight and thick of things.

The latter even had to address the issue of why he seemed to have stepped back since the former club striker assumed the responsibility as a SD and was the one handling transfer matters.
Seemingly, Kaizer Jr. even reports to the media on the football matters at the Soweto giants.
"It's only that somebody must take the back seat, somebody must lead. We can't all be in the forefront and trying to show face," Bobby told SABC Sport.
"But I'm there full-time, I'm part of the organization and I'm part of any decision that's being taken and operational issues, we are working together."
Could the 55-year-old be winding down to a retirement?
"Growing up, spiritually I realized there's something bigger and that he (Chairman, Dr. Kaizer Motaung) also acknowledges that he's a servant of God, he gives hope, he's very humble," Bobby said, responding to whether he is considering retirement, on 947's MSW.

"I discovered, you know what, thinking retirement is the day when I rest, when God decides to take me. The journey is more about the spirit, what we touch, how people love you.
"It's a connection. It's not expectations. It comes from your heart. This journey we're travelling is a very deep journey, which is amazing. To say to retire or think of leaving it, it's a pipedream.
"For me, it's more of a wisdom to serve and to give hope and love. That's why the slogan of Chiefs is Love and Peace," he added.
