Bobby breaks silence on Chiefs' transfer business

Kaizer Chiefs football manager Bobby Motaung has provided some clarity on the club's transfer dealings for the 2025/26 season, with the Soweto giants yet to formally unveil a single arrival.

Sections of the fanbase are still reeling from the knowledge that free agent Sipho Mbule –  a man seemingly destined to don the famous Black and Gold in recent times – has been poached by rivals Orlando Pirates.

The silence from the Chiefs hierarchy has prompted questions on how the club plans to bounce back from the embarrassing ninth-place finish of last season.

Speaking on 947's MSW on Tuesday evening, 'BobSteak' offered some insight into when and how they will make their plans public.

"The details of player movements, those we will deal with at the right time and the right platform," shared Motaung.

"As I said, we plead with our supporters, to say announcements will be made for the future of the next season. Reasons will be given about player departures and everything.

"The coach (Nasreddine Nabi) just arrived today (Tuesday), and we were able to have our sessions. Like I said, there are many consultations within the team, I don’t wake up and say, 'This is how [we are going to do] this’.

"It’s a process, and so like I said, coach Nabi has just arrived.

"There is a camp there (in the Netherlands). They are leaving next week for the camp. Those announcements will also be officially made by the club.

"Then we will come back here, before the league starts, with the coach to outline. Because those are questions that need to be answered, because we are here, we read, we gather on social media.

"We hear the comments of people. We’ve got a team that is dealing with all the questions and everything," he explained further.
