'We will give Billiat & Musona perfect farewell'

Zimbabwe boss Michael Nees has vowed to give Khama Billiat and Knowledge Musona a "perfect farewell" when they end their international careers.

Billiat and Musona are both in the twilight of their playing days, with the former having turned 35 earlier this week.

The pair recently became teammates at club level as well, after Musona signed for Scottland FC as a free agent.

Notably, the Zimbabwean duo also returned to the national team over the past 18 months, having previously retired from international football.

Warriors boss Nees played an influential role in convincing them to come out of retirement, and both stars are expected to feature at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in December.

Nees, who previously worked at SAFA, has now hinted that Billiat and Musona may not have much time left in the national set-up, but promised they will receive a fitting send-off when they call time on their international careers.

According to Herald Online, Nees said: "I think it’s very good for them to be playing in one team. Scottland are a high-level team, they have a lot of top players, they are investing a lot in football.

"Khama and Knowledge’s reunion could be good for our AFCON ambitions, they get to interact more often."

Nees added: "It’s also exciting for them to play together at the end of their career, they came from the same academy, but the biggest challenge is the pitches to showcase their talents.

"We need to give them a perfect and proper farewell to their international career and we will give them one."
