Cardoso’s rule call with thunderstorm clouds gathering at Downs

For all the unrest that has been unfolding inside the yellow walls at Chloorkop throughout this transfer window, Miguel Cardoso has laid a blanket of calm by insisting that they remain focused.

Lucas Ribeiro Costa has pushed to extremes and engaged the FIFA Tribunal in his bid to exit after offers were turned down.

Khuliso Mudau still has some matters to resolve with the club and is yet to play this season.

There have been offers for Kutlwano Letlhaku, who is wanted in Portugal, and a decision has to be made.

Peter Shalulile had matters of discomfort to discuss amid interest from Tunisian giants Esperance but is now back, just like Thapelo Morena needed some engagements relating to the nature of his contract before coming back.

The threat of all this having a destructive element has been of concern.

"My locker room is full of energy to deal with everything that we have to face," insists Cardoso.

"I think Mameldi Sundowns is not making any kind of noise around whatever happens.

"Mamelodi Sundowns is preserving everything that might be happening and keeping it inside the locker room doors.

"The locker room is impossible to be ripped, it is impossible to be broken by these kinds of things.

"The locker room is too strong, the values inside the club are too strong.

"With these kinds of events, the focus is so strong on becoming better, on working on preparing for every match.

"And the time is so small that the levels of concentration of course must be so high that we don’t have to react to what happens around.

"We always have the philosophy that if someone falls, two should rise.

"That is how we develop character, how we shape character, and I think that’s how it has been written, the story of Mamelodi Sundowns.

"By strong characters, by strong values, by strong people, and whatever happens is always solved inside doors in the best way possible and for sure, in the right moment, spoken publicly," says Cardoso.
