Benni: We must stay humble

With Benni McCarthy currently impressing at the 2024 CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN) with Kenya, the South African tactician insists his team must remain humble.

McCarthy has done an outstanding job with the Kenya national team, guiding them to a first-place finish in Group A at CHAN 2024.

Kenya are the only unbeaten side in their group, having recorded three wins and a draw from their four matches.

The Harambee Stars now face Madagascar in the quarter-final on Friday, but McCarthy has urged his players not to get carried away by their success so far.

According to Flashscore, McCarthy told reporters on Thursday: "There is still much more hard work to come from us, we will be ready for tomorrow (Friday).

"We will have our last training session and work on a few things, so I think calmness is what we need for the occasion, so that it doesn’t become a huge task for the players.

"We must keep our feet on the ground, and stay humble, and just enjoy the ride that we are on, and I am looking forward to tomorrow.

"Hopefully we can do ourselves, our families proud again, but on top of it all the nation, and fans that have always come out to support us."
