It has reportedly been revealed why the Zamalek SC board are divided over the potential appointment of coach Pitso Mosimane.
Mosimane is believed to be among the candidates under consideration by Zamalek for the head coach role.
The Egyptian giants recently parted ways with Portuguese coach José Peseiro, who was only appointed in February 2025.

Ayman El Ramady is currently serving as the club’s interim coach, with reports suggesting he will remain in charge until Zamalek's final game of the season, the Egyptian Cup final against Pyramids FC on 5 June.
Nevertheless, Mosimane is said to be a serious contender to take over from El Ramady, which has reportedly caused a split among the club’s decision-makers.
According to Arab outlet Al Sharq News Network, one faction of the board strongly supports the South African tactician, citing his impressive track record in both Africa and Egypt.
However, others on the board remain unconvinced, pointing to Mosimane’s underwhelming results during his time at Emirati side Al Wahda, Saudi Arabian club Abha FC, and more recently, Esteghlal FC in Iran.
The report claims that these stints have raised concerns about Mosimane’s suitability to lead Zamalek at this point.
The matter is reportedly still under internal discussion, though the club are said to still have Mosimane high on their list of candidates.
