While Pirates have ruled over the MTN8 with an iron fist over the last three seasons, this will be a first cup final bite of the cherry for new head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou.
Pirates will draw confidence from the last time they played a final at Mbombela, in the Nedbank Cup, which ended 2-1 in their favour against Mamelodi Sundowns in June 2024.
