Cameroon legend Samuel Eto'o has thrown his support to Mamelodi Sundowns and fellow African teams ahead of the FIFA Club World Cup, making a bold claim that involves European sides.
The extended Club World Cup is scheduled to take place in the United States from June 15 to July 13, 2025, with 32 teams set to participate.
Masandawana will be representing the African continent along with Egypt's Al Ahly, Esperance de Tunis of Tunisia, and Moroccan giants Wydad Athletic Club.

The four African football powerhouses will meet some of the top European teams such as Manchester City, Juventus, and Chelsea amongst other strong opponents.
Although African teams are seemingly deemed some of the weakest sides in the competition, Eto'o is adamant that Sundowns and co will surprise many.
The now Cameroonian Football Federation (FECAFOOT) president, has also claimed that Downs, Ahly, Esperance, and Wydad are on the same level as those of Europe.
"I know that the teams who will represent my continent will do the best to get as far as possible," Eto’o told DSports, per Ghana Soccernet.
"The level is quite equal, now soccer is crazy. They (the four African teams) will do their best to get as far as possible,” remarked the four-time CAF Player of the Year.

"We were lucky to have an African club in the final. Too bad they played against Inter Milan. I hope that happens again," he added.
"To those who have the opportunity to play, tell them to enjoy it because I don't think this occasion will come again. My time has passed, I just have to enjoy."
