GONE: CT City release 9 players

Cape Town City have confirmed the departure of nine first-team players following their relegation.

The Citizens will be competing in the Motsepe Foundation Championship in the 25/26 campaign after failing to retain their status in the promotion play-offs last month.

City have now parted ways with a few players, including long-serving duo Thabo Nodada and Thamsanqa Mkhize.

"Cape Town City can confirm the departure of the following players who’ve worn the badge with pride and represented the club with heart," the club announced on X.

"Each player leaves with our deepest thanks for the dedication and professionalism they showed during their years at the club. We wish them nothing but success in the next chapter of their journey.
