The Betway Premiership title race may at times have resembled the non-event of a tortoise chasing a hare, but following Orlando Pirates' latest result, Mamelodi Sundowns have been given a reality check.
Pirates' 2-1 win over Golden Arrows at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Tuesday has seen the gap between them and log leaders Sundowns cut to nine points, with Jose Riveiro's men having a game in hand.

The Brazilians host Chippa United at Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Wednesday, with a victory set to bring them closer to their crowning moment as an eight league title in a row remains well within sight.
"We are not panicking yet," says Papi Mbele, the former Sundowns left-footer known for his trademark chiskop.
"After yesterday's game, Pirates are on 52 points, and we are playing today. If we win tonight, we will move to 64 points. However, if we lose against Chippa, there will be pressure.
"Every point is important for Sundowns at this stage, a draw or a win would be acceptable. There’s no reason why Sundowns shouldn’t win this league.
"Currently, there is pressure on us I admit, but Pirates have lost hope, and we need to keep them behind us.

"Things started to change when we lost 2-1 to (Kaizer) Chiefs in the Nedbank Cup. After that, we went to Africa, and our supporters were putting too much pressure on the Sundowns players.
"Fortunately, the league is still in our hands. Honestly, the league is ours to lose," he continues.
