Sirino speaks: I have no regrets...

Gaston Sirino has responded to questions on harbouring regrets about his move to Kaizer Chiefs, as the side endure an underwhelming season that sees them sitting ninth in the log  standings.

The Uruguayan joined Chiefs from rivals Mamelodi Sundowns at the start of the season on a free transfer, coming with a huge reputation and an impressive trophy cabinet that includes seven league titles, among other trophies.

Although he has shown glimpses of his quality, his move has not lived up to expectation. Injuries, suspensions and reported clashes with head coach Nasreddine Nabi have not helped the attacker's case either.

However, speaking for the first time on the move, Sirino stood firmly by his choice and remains determined to achieve success at Naturena.

"No, it's my responsibility to come here to make history, to fight for my legacy also," explained the 34-year-old.

"Because there (at Sundowns), sometimes you are comfortable. You know there at Sundowns, there are many good players.

"Also here, there are many good players, of good quality, but I think we need to fight more here because it's different. The pressure is different as well.

"But like I said, [the Nedbank Cup] it's a good opportunity to change this season," said Sirino.

Still, the temperamental star has been one of the side's better performers in what has been a dismal campaign, contributing six assists and three goals from 23 appearances.

The Khos Nation will hope to have 'AMG' at his best when they meet old foes Orlando Pirates in the Nedbank Cup final at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday (15:30).
