Every African star who has won the CWC

With only three African stars still in contention to win the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, here's a look at every player from the continent who has previously won the prestigious tournament.

The semi-finals of the current Club World Cup are fast approaching, with 2022 winners Chelsea set to face Brazilian side Fluminense in the first tie.

The second semi-final will see a titanic clash between five-time champions Real Madrid and reigning European champions Paris Saint-Germain.

There are only a few Africans still in the running this year, with just three players from the continent remaining across the four semi-finalist teams.

They include Chelsea’s Senegalese striker Nicolas Jackson, along with Moroccan stars Brahim Diaz and Achraf Hakimi of Real Madrid and PSG, respectively.

Nevertheless, history shows that only 16 African players have ever won the Club World Cup — and none have done so on multiple occasions.

In the 2010 edition, four-time CAF Footballer of the Year Yaya Toure became the first African to lift the trophy, doing so with FC Barcelona.

Senegal, Morocco, and Cameroon are the only African nations to have produced more than one Club World Cup winner.

Other African countries with players who have lifted the trophy include Egypt, Guinea, Mali, Nigeria, Ghana, and Kenya.

Scroll through the gallery at the top to see every African star who has won the Club World Cup — and the team they won it with!
