Newly promoted Gomora United have extended an opportunity to the overlooked duo of Lerato Chabangu and Lucky Khune.
KickOff understands that the 39-year-old Chabangu may come out of retirement to support his former club for at least one season in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.

The Alexandra-based club currently features a 43-year-old Rooi Mahamutsa in their squad, as club chairman Joe Seanego values experienced talent close to retirement.
Chabangu's experience in winning the Premier Soccer League title in the 2008/2009 season with the now-defunct SuperSport United could be beneficial for Gomora's goal of securing automatic promotion to the Betway Premiership next season, even though he last played competitively in 2019 with Baberwa FC.
Meanwhile, Khune, now 35, also shares a close relationship with Seanego.
"The doors are open for both Chabangu and Khune; we just have to ensure it’s the right opportunity," Seanego tells KickOff.
"If there’s still a desire from them, then why not?"
Seanego explained that "currently, Lerato Chabangu is retired and not playing, while we are uncertain about Khune, who is somewhere in the North West province.
"We will assess that, but we are also focused on maintaining the core of our team. We want to keep most of these players."

Furthermore, Seanego has committed to retaining coach Johnny Ferreira for at least another year due to his extensive experience in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.
"M'dala is one of the most experienced coaches in NFD football, and I believe he still has much to offer," Seanego added.
"There are many options though; we still have assistant coaches like Patrick Phungwayo who can support him. Ferreira brings a wealth of experience after his time at Pirates."
