The Portuguese striker, who was born in Guinea-Bissau, joins Amakhosi after spending a season with Persebaya Surabaya in Indonesia’s top flight.

Flavio recorded nine goals and two assists during his single season with Persebaya, helping the club to a fourth-place finish in the 2024/25 campaign.

Despite his short-lived stint with Persebaya, the club has since issued a glowing reference, praising the 29-year-old’s impact during his brief stay.

The club compiled a farewell video for Flavio, which was shared on their official Instagram account.

Persebaya wrote: "Thank you for the season we shared together, Flavio Silva.

It was brief, but we created many beautiful memories together. The spirit, dedication, and warmth you showed throughout will always be remembered.

Wishing you success in your new career."

In the same statement, the club also confirmed that Flavio’s replacement would be announced soon.

Early reports now suggest that Flavio could be replaced by Jurgen Locadia, a former teammate of Percy Tau at Brighton & Hove Albion.
