One of the CAF giants is now said to have included Rulani Mokwena in a three-man shortlist of potential managers ahead of next season.
Mokwena has been without a job since leaving Wydad Athletic Club in April 2025.
His brief stint in Morocco marked the South African's first coaching experience outside his home country.

However, despite the mutual termination of his contract less than a year into the role, Mokwena’s reputation in North Africa appears to remain intact.
A few months ago, he was linked with the Zamalek SC job, and now reports suggest he is on the radar of an Algerian club.
According to Arabic outlet ElDjazair El Djadida, MC Alger have included Mokwena in a three-man shortlist alongside two French coaches: Patrice Carteron and Hubert Velud.
The report claims that while MC Alger are considering experienced foreign managers, they cannot hide their strong admiration for Mokwena.
His name reportedly carries serious weight in Algeria, with some already drawing comparisons between him and his renowned compatriot Pitso Mosimane, a respected figure in Arab North African football.
Moreover, there is said to be a generally positive sentiment among fans regarding Mokwena’s potential appointment. He was also recently linked with a sensational return to Orlando Pirates.
