Premier League champions Manchester City are facing the prospect of being kicked out of the UEFA Champions League next season.
The Citizens enjoyed a historic title triumph on Sunday by pipping Liverpool to a second consecutive league crown but their celebrations could be short lived due to Financial Fair Play regulations.
Pep Guardiola's side have been under investigation since German newspaper Der Spiegel alleged the club had broken FFP regulations by inflating the value of a multimillion-pound sponsorship deal.
This allowed them to spend freely in the transfer market and meet the criteria of the FFP regulations, which state that clubs are not allowed to spend more on transfers than the revenue they accrue over a 12-month period.
According to BBC Sport, investigators want City to be banned from the Champions League for a season if they are found guilty of breaking the strict rulings.
Chief investigator Yves Leterme will make the final recommendation this week, which will then go towards a voting process amongst the UEFA commitee to decided their fate.
