Carabao Cup wrap

Manchester United 0-1 West Ham United

Manchester United were sent tumbling out of the Carabao Cup with a 1-0 loss to West Ham United.

United fielded a largely second-string side but still boasting an array of talent and with no Cristiano Ronaldo in the matchday squad.

They were on the backfoot early on when Manuel Lanzini opened the scoring in the ninth minute and couldn't find a way back into the contest with the Hammers fulll merit for their victory in the end with Dean Henderson the busier of the two keepers.

Arsenal 3-0 Wimbledon

Arsenal saw off Wimbledon 3-0 but didn't make the result comfortable until the final ten minutes.

Alexandre Lacazette put the Gunners in front from the penalty spot in the 11th minute.

It took a long time before the Gunners would give themselves breathing space, however, through goals from Emile Smith-Rowe and Eddie Nketiah.

Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-2 Tottenham Hotspur (Tottenham Hotspur won 3-2 on penalties)

Nuno Espirito Santo made a happy return to his old hunting ground as his Tottenham outfit claimed a penalty shootout victory over Wolves.

Harry Kane and Tanguy Ndombele got on the scoresheet for Spurs, while Leander Dendoncker and Leandro Podence netted for Wolves. Ruben Neves, Dendocnker and Coady missed Wolves' last three penalties in an average performance from the spot.

Chelsea 1-1 Aston Villa (Chelsea won 4-3 on penalties)

Chelsea edged past Aston Villa on penalties in a thrilling cup tie.

Timo Werner gave the Blues the lead but Cameron Archer's header took the game to penalties and there Reece James would slot the winning spot-kick.
