However, Mokwena has made a bold decision before their campaign gets underway next week as Pan Africa Football report that the club are now ready to offload Algeria international Andy Delort.
Delort spent the second half of last season on loan at Ligue 1 side Montpellier, although it did not turn out while as he ended demoted to the reserve team.
Mokwena did allow the 33-year-old to return to training with Alger team in pre-season, but has now reportedly opted to leave him out of the squad ahead of the new league campaign.
The report adds that the striker's big salary forced the Algerian champions to change their mind on the player's future.
Delort spent six months with the Algerian giants, where he only managed to score three goals in 14 appearances.
Mokwena's charges will begin their Ligue 1 campaign against USM Alger on Thursday, 28 August.
