Pyramids coach reveals future plans ahead of Down clash

Pyramids FC head coach Krunoslav Jurcic has provided an update regarding his future with the club ahead of the CAF Champions League match against Mamelodi Sundowns.

The Croatian mentor joined Pyramids in February 2024, and since that time, he has been doing remarkably well, having advanced to this season's Champions League final after beating Orlando Pirates.

Furthermore, the 55-year-old tactician and his team are currently at the summit of the Egyptian Premier League standings, with high chances of securing the title.

Jurcic's contract with Pyramids is said to be ending at the end of the 2024/25 campaign, but it includes a clause to extend for an additional season only if both parties agree to it.

Amid rumours about his future, Jurcic has shared shed some light on his intentions, emphasizing that his attention is on the team as they face challenging tasks ahead.

"We have qualified for the CAF Champions League final and the Egypt Cup final, and we currently occupy first place in the league," Jurcic said as quoted by Elbalad.

"We expect fierce competition until the end. These are all valid reasons why I am currently focusing on working with Pyramids.

"I will do my best to achieve the best results. After the end of the season, there will be time to decide on my future steps and how to achieve them."

Pyramids will face Sunsowns in a two-legged final of the Champions League, with the first match set for South Africa on May 24, followed by the second leg in Cairo on June 1.
