OFFICIAL: New CAF Champions League trophy on the way!

CAF have officially announced that they will unveil a brand-new trophy for the CAF Champions League in Johannesburg ahead of the upcoming final.

The organisation will also reveal a refreshed identity for the Champions League trophy in the build-up to this season’s two-legged final.

The first leg of the final will take place on Saturday, 24 May, with the return leg scheduled for Sunday, 1 June in Cairo.

The unveiling of the new trophy is set for Thursday, 22 May, at the TotalEnergies offices in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The African football governing body confirmed that the event will be attended by African football legends, as well as representatives from the two finalists, Mamelodi Sundowns and Pyramids FC.

"The timing of the unveiling adds to the excitement and grandeur surrounding the decider, offering African football fans a glimpse of what will be at stake over the two legs in Tshwane and Cairo over the next two weeks," reads a statement on CAFOnline.

"This event signifies a new bold and exciting chapter for African club football, as CAF continues to elevate the profile and image of CAF Interclub Competitions.

"Thursday’s event builds on the recent partnership renewal between CAF and TotalEnergies, which saw the giant petroleum company extending its partnership with CAF for a further four years.

"Details of the new Trophy and its designed will be unveiled on the day by CAF and TotalEnergies."
