A French coach has confirmed that he missed out on the MC Alger job after being beaten to the role by Rulani Mokwena.
Mokwena was recently announced as the new head coach of MC Alger, replacing Tunisian coach Khaled Ben Yahia.
Mokwena signed a two-year deal with the club, and it has also been reported that he will be bringing two assistants as part of his coaching staff.

It is the South African tactician’s first job since he parted ways with Wydad Athletic Club in May.
Now, French manager Hubert Velud has praised Mokwena following his appointment, while also revealing that he was in the running for the MC Alger hot seat.
According to Algerian outlet Footalgeriedz, Velud said: "Mokwena is a young and ambitious coach, part of a new generation of coaches on the African continent.
"He loves possession football, relies on building play from the back, and prefers a modern attacking approach.
"His style did not produce positive results in Morocco, but conditions might be better with Mouloudia Algiers.”
The publication also claims Velud admitted to having been in the running for the position but accepted the club’s decision to appoint Mokwena instead.
"I would have loved to coach a prestigious club like Mouloudia, but I wish Mokwena all the best."
