With Aliou Dieng's future at Al Ahly seemingly uncertain, a French club is reportedly considering the possibility of luring him away from Jose Riveiro's side.
The Malian international, who joined the Red Devils in July 2019, spent last season on loan at Saudi Arabian club Al-Kholood after falling out of then-coach Marcel Koller’s plans.

Now back at Ahly, it appears that new coach Riveiro has reintegrated him into his setup. The 27-year-old midfield maestro featured in the club's 4-1 win over Pharco FC on Friday.
In addition, the highly-rated player made a single appearance during the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup in the United States, a clear indication that the Spanish tactician values his contributions.
However, Dieng has yet to agree on a new deal with Ahly, with negotiations reportedly stalling over contract terms. His current deal runs until the end of the 2025/26 season.
According to Africa Foot, French Ligue 1 side RC Lens are tempting Dieng with a three-year contract worth a total of €8 million (approximately R166 million).
The report has also claimed that Lens have offered the Egyptian Premier League giants at least €1.5 million (around R30 million) to buy out the final year of his contract.

However, the report has indicated that the Red Devils' management has rejected the offer, stating that Dieng is valued higher than what Lens proposed.
The long-serving Ahly star has also drawn interest from several Saudi Arabian clubs, but it's believed that Riveiro is reluctant to allow him to go as he plans to utilise him in the season.
