According to reports from across the continent, Stellenbosch FC are once again set to lose one of their key players ahead of the upcoming 2025/26 Betway Premiership season.
Ivorian defender Ismael Toure, a standout performer for the Cape Winelands-based side, is reportedly on the verge of completing a move to Baniyas SC in the United Arab Emirates.

The news, first reported by AfricaFoot, suggests that the two clubs have reached an agreement, with Toure expected to undergo a medical in the coming days.
Soccer Laduma has also confirmed that Stellenbosch have received formal offers from the UAE and have been in active discussions with one of the teams in the UAE regarding the transfer.
Reports indicate that the club has already negotiated with the player on personal terms, with the 27-year-old towering defender set to move.
Toure has been instrumental in Stellenbosch’s rise in recent seasons, playing a key role in their strong defensive record and helping the club secure a top-four finish in the 2024/25 campaign.
His consistent performances at the back, leadership qualities, and ability to contribute in set-piece situations have earned him praise both locally and abroad.

Toure’s success with Stellies has made him one of the most sought-after defenders in the South African top flight. He was linked with teams like Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates in the recent transfer periods.
Should the deal be finalised, it would mark another significant departure for Stellenbosch, who continue to be a breeding ground for top talent. They lost players such as Jayden Adams and Deano van Rooyen amongst others recently.
