Amid a wave of criticism, Abdeslam Ouaddou has addressed the Orlando Pirates fans over the club’s recent poor run of results and made a promise ahead of the MTN8 semi-final against Mamelodi Sundowns.
On the back of two consecutive losses in the league, Ouaddou has found himself under intense scrutiny.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference, the 46-year-old himself was candid in his assessment of things.
"I can understand our fans; they love the club everywhere in the country and on the continent.
They are passionate people, they are the 12th man, so in every big club in Africa, of course, if you start in that way, we can understand the disappointment," said Ouaddou.
"But what we can promise them is that we are going to bounce back and we are going to sweat on our shirt to try to represent the badge very well in the right way in order to bring them happiness – it’s only the beginning."
