Ex-Bucs striker seals first win for Orbit

Orbit College claimed their first win of the Betway Premiership season after overcoming Siwelele FC 1-0 on Tuesday evening.

Siwelele were unchanged from the opening day victory over Golden Arrows, while on-loan Monnapule Saleng headlined the home side’s starting line-up.

The visiting team looked to build-on their fine start to the campaign with a succession of efforts early on by Gape Moralo and Relebohile Mokhuoane, but they were unable to hit the target.

Orbit regained momentum a few minutes in and enjoyed their first decent chance through a teasing shot in the area by Saleng, but goalkeeper Ricardo Goss was able to make the save.

At the other end, forward Christian Saile got a succession of chances with both from deliveries to the area but he fluffed his lines, before Ghampani Lungu sent a headed chance over the crossbar just before the break.

The visiting team turned to the bench at the break and introduced Lyle Lakay ahead of Saile in search of the opening goal.

Saleng found another opening in the area five minutes into the second half, but he couldn’t get the better of Goss.

The travelling outfit looked to go one better minutes later with a header from Siviwe Magidigidi from a cross by Mobbie, but Moerane smothered the effort.

Orbit proved decisive in the final minutes after a cross from Siyabulela Mabele teed-up Letsie Koapeng who finished from the area to seal the team's first-ever win in the top-flight.
