In this edition of My First, KickOff catches up with former SuperSport United and Orlando Pirates midfielder Mafika Cavann Sibeko.

My First School:

"It was Endulweni Primary School in Tembisa. I cried non-stop when I started school because I had never been to a creche before. I think I was seven years old when I began my schooling."

My First Kiss:

"I was 15 years old. We were just being naughty like school kids; I was playing soccer while she was playing netball."

My First Child:

"I was 25 years old when I had my first child. I was with SuperSport United at the time, just before I joined Pirates. I had her on February 13, 2006, right before Valentine's Day."

My First Soccer Boots:

"My first pair of soccer boots was a Puma Tiempo, which my father bought for me. They were the cheapest option at the time, and I was nine years old."

My First PSL Game:

"I played my first PSL game against Hellenic at Caledonian Stadium while I was with SuperSport United. That was in 1999."

My First Red Card:

"My first red card was against Dynamos in Pretoria. Dynamos had players like Frank Makua. I pulled someone by their shirt and received my second yellow card."

My First Own Goal:

"I have never scored an own goal."

My First Goal:

"I scored my first goal against Manning Rangers in Durban during one of the famous Friday night games. I scored with my head, and Rangers still had players like Grootman Sipho Ndzuzo."

My First Individual Award:

"I was named Man of the Match against Ajax Cape Town at Athlone Stadium in 2002. That same year, I was also recognized as the Most Improved Player at SuperSport United."

My First Trophy With A Club:

"My first trophy with a club was the Top 8 against Kaizer Chiefs in Durban. We won that game 1-0, and the goal was scored by Phil Evans via a penalty. It was around 2003 or 2004."

My First Signing-On Fee:

"My first signing-on fee was R4000. That was in 1999 at SuperSport United. I had no idea about signing-on fees since I was recruited from the townships. I later realized that I was scammed."

My First Car:

"My first car was a Golf 1, which I bought in 2002 for R10,000 from one of the kasi grootmans."
