Sirino’s risk at Chiefs...

The events unfolding at Kaizer Chiefs have left Gaston Sirino with reason to worry about further additions to his trophy collection.

Sirino is in the first of his two-year deal at Chiefs and now only has the Nedbank Cup to play for in silverware-related matters.

For that trophy triumph to happen in the Nedbank Cup, the Soweto giants need to get past Mamelodi Sundowns in the semi-finals, before they meet either Orlando Pirates or Marumo Gallants in the final.

The 34-year-old won seven league titles in a row at Sundowns, making him the only player in South African football to do so for all his time at one club.

Denis Onyango, Thapelo Morena, and Themba Zwane have also won seven in a row as players at The Brazilians but had seasons when they were not league champions while at the club.

Sirino joined the Chloorkop-based outfit straight after winning the 2017 Apertura and then Clausura with Club Bolivar.

This means for the last eight years of his career, there have been silverware additions to his cabinet, which besides the seven league titles at Sundowns, also include two Nedbank Cups, Telkom Knockout, MTN8, and the African Football League.
