Khethokwakhe Masuku opens up on being unwanted

Ex-Orlando Pirates crowd favourite Khethokwakhe Masuku had opened up about the hurtful fact that no clubs want to sign him anymore.

Masuku last played top-flight football with Bloemfontein Celtic in 2017 and since then has had short stints at the likes of Tshakhuma Tsha Madzhivhandila and Baberwa FC.

Despite being 34, the tricky winger has not given up hope of finding another PSL deal but says if it's God's will that he never plays football again, he will retire.

NEWS: Myeni made clubless again

"It's still early, grootman, it's still early [to retire]," Masuku tells snl24.com/kickoff.

"When football resumes we will continue searching, what else can we do? We can't lose hope. We will see what comes together."

Masuku says he also cannot understand why teams don't want to touch him anymore, and makes it clear that he will not force it if things don't work out.

"I can't tell you, grootman. I really don't know what is wrong. I don't know where exactly things flopped because I get there [to different clubs], we have an understanding, teams allow me to train, but all of a sudden things just change.

"I don't know what is causing that. I can't really tell because everything happens with the will of God. If I'm not supposed to kick it again [the football], maybe it means there is something better coming for me.

"We are humans living in this world, we don't even know what the future holds for us. If it's God's will, then I accept it, grootman.

"That's how I believe that whatever happens I can't say, 'Why is this happening to me and not to someone else.' It means it was meant for me you see."

Asked if he thought there was someone badmouthing him to all these teams, he accepted the possibility.

"Ja I guess so, but then what can we say? Because there is no proof you see," he responds.

"I will continue training by myself and see what happens when football resumes. If my situation doesn't change, then I will quit and see what life has for me on the other side."
