Former Bafana striker to pull the plug?

A former Bafana Bafana striker, who has been at Mamelodi Sundowns and all around the world, has admitted to retirement thoughts after his contract was not renewed at a Betway Premiership club.

In any case, it does not come as a surprise, as the 35-year-old has been blessed to ply his trade in Israel, Cyprus, Azerbaijan, China, and Turkey (in that order) having initially cut his teeth in front of goal at Sundowns and Bloemfontein Celtic, before venturing abroad.

That's none other than Dino Ndlovu, who joined Marumo Gallants on a short-term contract in March after he spent almost a season clubless since leaving Sakaryaspor in Turkey.

After appearing five times for the side, who were fighting relegation under Abdeslam Ouaddou, Ndlovu has hinted he could call time on his illustrious career, after he was released.

"For me, I've done what I've been called to do. I think I've displayed my talent to the best. I don't believe God will judge me or be angry at me because the talent He gave me, I've used it to the maximum," Ndlovu told KickOff.com exclusively.

"And I took decisions that were suitable for my career and my family. At the end of the day, the best performer knows when it's time to leave the stage.

"And I think I'm close to leaving the stage, you know."

Pressed on whether Gallants could be his last pro club, the Klerksdorp-born man admitted that he's contemplating calling it a day.

"That's the possibility at the moment."

After breaking through at Celtic on loan from The Brazilians in 2010/11, Ndlovu joined Israeli side Bnei Yehuda Tel Aviv, before moving on to Maccabi Haifa.

He had loan spells at SuperSport and the defunct Mpumalanga Black Aces in between, before linking up with Cypriot club Anorthosis.

From there, Ndlovu made a big move to Qarabag in 2016 and after two years went to Chinese side ZJ Greentown. He also had spells at CC Yatal and Changchun in China, before switching to Europe (Turkey, in particular), to turn out for Boluspor and Sakaryaspor.
