Mbule to Pirates: Chiefs dropped the ball!

A big regret has been expressed on Kaizer Chiefs missing out on the services of Sipho Mbule, who had been offered to the club by the player's agent before surfacing at rivals Orlando Pirates.

On Tuesday, Pirates, announced Mbule's signing, much to the surprise of many.

Baroka FC coach Dan Malesela, a former Buccaneer, is one of those who did not see the move coming, while also reserving choice words for the Naturena-based side.

"It's a great signing for Pirates. I was surprised because Chiefs dropped the ball on this one. They missed out big time, as they don't have a player like that at the moment," says Malesela, opening up to KickOff.com

"And they really need someone like him. Chiefs have always been known for having tricky players like Doctor Khumalo, but currently, they lack someone as creative as Sipho Mbule.

"I think it's a major win for Pirates. They just need to get him to toe the line. There are many players in our league who might have similar issues, but Mbule stands out because he is a true talent. These concerns can be addressed.

"I'm worried about how quickly we judge players when they face challenges rather than trying to help them.

"I know for a fact what this boy can do, I had the chance to watch him closely with the Naledi FC team during the 2022 DStv Compact Cup. Spending time watching him train revealed just how amazing his skills are," added 'Dan Dance'.

Malesela says it is shocking that some people doubt Pirates' decision to sign the former SuperSport United lad.

"We all deserve a chance in life. Why shouldn't he be given one, especially when he is exceptional?

"Coaching him at Naledi FC, I recognised his knowledge and understanding of football. Not many clubs have players like him. I just hope he will be allowed to express himself, and then everyone will see how talented he truly is."
