Marumo Gallants FC and Polokwane City could not be separated after playing to a 1-1 draw in the Betway Premiership on Sunday afternoon.
Gallants were unchanged following the defeat to Stellenbosch, while Rodney Maphangule returned as City's sole alteration following the goalless draw against Durban City.
Marumo got the first chance midway in the first period when Sekela Sithole found space in the six-yard area to meet a cross from Monde Mphambaniso but he headed over the top.
Rise and Shine also had a chance off the head past the half-hour mark through Surprise Manthosi following a corner-kick, but he failed to beat goalkeeper Brian Bwire.
The host enjoyed a strong close to the first spell as Teboho Motloung came short to the edge of the area to get a shot in, but sent his effort wide of the upright.
City coach Phuti Mohafe made a substitution at the start of the second half, with Puleng Marema coming on in the place of Banele Mnguni.
The change didn’t bother the hosts, who took the lead a minute after the break when Bheki Mabuza pounced on a loose ball on the edge of the area and fired in off the post.
However, Rise and Shine were back on level terms ten minutes later as Bonginkosi Dlamini played a quick one-two outside the area and thumped into the far corner.
With the clash keenly poised, neither team were able to take the match by the scruff of the neck and a tightly contested battle all-round materialised.
In the end, the two Limpopo outfit had to settle for a share of the spoils, as Gallants sit in eighth spot while Polokwane find themselves in 10th position.
