TS Galaxy jumped to fourth spot on the Betway Premiership table with a 3-1 victory over Orbit College on Saturday night.
Monnapule Saleng and Tshepo Matsemela were recalled by the host following the loss to Orlando Pirates, while the Rockets were unchanged after the win over Siwelele FC.
Galaxy broke the deadlock afte 39 seconds when Seluleko Mahlambi latched on a pin-point delivery from Mpho Mvelase and tapped in from close-range.
The struggling host nearly got a response from a curling free-kick outside the area by Matsemela, who saw his effort crash against the crossbar.
Galaxy could’ve doubled the lead through a penalty in the opening quarter as Mahlambi went down in the box, but Puso Dithejane was denied by goalkeeper Sekhoane Moerane.
The Rockets were forced to make a change on the half-hour mark as Solomon Letsoenyo picked up a knock and was replaced by Qobolwakhe Sibande.
Orbit got a golden chance to level matters early in the second half through Gomolemo Khoto at the back-post but the substitute sent his effort over the target.
The missed proved costly with 67 minutes played as Sphesihle Maduna combined with Mahlambi wide of the area and finished from a tight angle for his first goal of the season.
The Rockets added a third goal four minutes later after Dithejane cut-in on the right and teed-up Mvelase to slot in an empty net.
The host rallied back five minutes to the end when Lethabo Modimoeng tucked in a loose ball in the area after the Rockets failed to clear their lines.
Galaxy were reduced to ten men two minutes later as Lentswi Motaung got his marching orders after picking up his second yellow card.
The dismissal didn’t trouble the Rockets, who had already done more than enough to walk away with the maximum points.
