Vinicius helps Madrid maintain perfect start

Real Madrid rallied from behind to secure a 2-1 win over Mallorca to maintain their perfect record in LALIGA on Saturday night.

Los Blancos made two changes from the eleven that started against Oviedo last Sunday, as Trent Alexander-Arnold came for Dani Carvajal while Vinicius Junior replaced Rodrygo.

Madrid looked to have gone ahead on five minutes when Kylian Mbappe bundled in a delivery from Alexander-Arnold, but it was disallowed for offside.

The host were stunned ten minutes later as Vedat Muriqi beat Aurelien Tchouameni to a corner from Pablo Torre to head into the bottom corner.

Xabi Alonso’s boys regained control eight minutes to the break and levelled when Dean Huijsen knocked a high ball back across for Arda Guler to finish from close-range.

The comeback was completed a minute later as Vinicius showed quick feet on the edge of the area to rifle in the bottom-corner.

Los Blancos grabbed a third goal early in the second half when Guler finished off a rebound in the box, but it was disallowed following a Video Assistant Referee (VAR) review.

Alonso refreshed their on-field personnel in the middle of the second stanza and hauled in Brahim Diaz in place of Franco Mastantuono.

Mallorca almost levelled matters a minutes later when Samu Costa picked up a poor clearance from Samu Costa and fired goal-wards, but Alvaro Carreras cleared emphatically.

Both teams pushed each other to the edge later on, with the visitors in particular keen to get back on level terms but failed to rattle the back of the net.

Los Blancos ensured the win after running down the clock and maintained their hundred percent start to the season too.
