Worth R20 million? Focus lenses zoom in on Appollis again

The transfer window has opened with Oswin Appollis coming under focus in matters relating to how he gets to leave Polokwane City.

Appollis has been training with Polokwane since they returned to training last week.

However, now in the last 12 months on his contract, this window will provide him with the last escape route before he is able to sign a pre-contract elsewhere in January.

The 23-year-old’s valuation has been placed at R20 million by those close to the dealings at the club, which will be minus Manuel Sapunga and Cole Alexander amongst the notable departures this season.

While he has established himself as a Bafana Bafana regular, Appollis has been crying out for bigger stage than what he is getting at City.

Appollis has completed two years at City after the Limpopo club snapped him up from Motsepe Foundation Championship outfit Pretoria Callies.

This was after he had struggled at SuperSport United.

His time up north has turned into massive progress having just about given up on his career three years ago.

Callies then offered him the first step of what has then led to him breaking into the Bafana squad while at Polokwane and subsequently becoming a subject of transfer interest.

Appollis was linked with MC Alger last season, but Polokwane boss Johnny Mogaladi stood his ground.

Kaizer Chiefs then came knocking as well with no success.

His admirers will be licking their lips at this juncture considering that while his transfer valuation has been placed at R20 million, it will now drop as he is now in the last year of his contract.
