The expected transfer talk over Mamelodi Sundowns star player Lucas Ribeiro Costa has started after the Brazilian’s fine showing at the FIFA Club World Cup.
Ribeiro has completed two years at Sundowns delivering 60 goals/assists in 88 appearances.

With that he has stated that while he has the desire to return home to Brazil, he is happy at Chloorkop and his transfer will be determined by the club.
It has now emerged that there is interest from Brazilian clubs Fluminense and Cruzeiro.
The two clubs are part of what is referred to as the G-12 – a term for the big 12 – in Brazilian football and both play in the 2025 Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A.
It has been reported by various media outlets in Brazil that both Fluminense and Cruzeiro have sought information about Ribeiro.
The Brazilian window opens in July and Fluminense have targeted Ribeiro as replacement for Renato Augusto who recently left.
Ribeiro’s agent has authorized Brazilian representatives to offer him to clubs in the South American country.
However, the 26-year-old is already in talks with a club in Qatar which has offered him a fortune.

It is reported Sundowns want 2,5 million Euro (approx. R52 million) which the club in Qatar is willing to pay.
Ribeiro played for the youth teams of of Sampaio Correa, Moto Club, and Pinheiros before moving to France, Belgium and then South Africa.
