Former Bafana Bafana star Teko Modise has sent a message to Mamelodi Sundowns players following their exit from the FIFA Club World Cup.
Cardoso's charges were held to a 0-0 draw by Brazilian side Fluminense in their final group stage match at the Club World Cup in Miami, United States, on Wednesday.
The Brazilians bow out of the global showpiece with a record of one win, a defeat and a draw, totalling four points.

Speaking on the club's Pitchside Podcast, Modise said he was proud of the team but also set a new challenge for the players.
"I would say the message is to the team, the technical staff, the management and everyone that is involved with Mamelodi Sundowns that now the world, the international stage knows who you are, can you go to the second?," said Modise, who was part of the Sundowns squad that lifted the 2016 CAF Champions League title.
"For the players, those who didn't play and didn't participate, can you come back and actually participate and go further? I think that is the challenge I'm putting on the team, and I'm putting on the players.
"This is where we belong. We need to come back here, but there is a lot that needs to be done. To the players themselves, to everyone who was involved with this trip. I am very, very proud.
"We played our way, and we never panicked. We never show any stress, and this is how we have to play.

"I'm very, very proud to be here, and I just hope that this experience is going to go to everyone in the team so that we can come back stronger next season."
Sundowns will kick off their 25/26 season with an MTN8 quarter-final clash against Richards Bay in August.
