WRAP: Nabi's vision takes shape at Chiefs...

Head coach Nasreddine Nabi's vision for Kaizer Chiefs is gradually taking shape as the club closes in on their transfer targets ahead of a season where much will be expected.

Chiefs have come under some scrutiny over a perceived lack of progress in securing new signings for the upcoming campaign. After all, they finished in an embarrassing ninth spot on the log last term and are therefore expected to be making signings left, right and centre.

However, information reaching this website is that behind the scenes, the Soweto giants are actually closing in on several of their transfer targets.

The latest arrival is understood to be defender Nkanyiso Shinga.

The KZN Academy product is contracted to Alverca in the Portugal's Second Division until 2026, but Chiefs look to have done enough to convince his club into a deal.

Furthermore, Shinga is believed to be eager to return to South African soil after seven years abroad.

Amakhosi are also understood to be closing in on the signature of another player based in Portugal, striker Flavio Silva.

The Sporting Lisbon youth product registered 39 goals in 78 appearances and is expected to replace departing Ranga Chivaviro.

The side may have lost out on Sipho Mbule - who joined old foes Orlando Pirates - but are understood to have captured the signings of two former Bucs stars too, in Thabiso Monyane and Paseka Mako.

Additionally, UK-based South African midfielder Ethan Chislett has also been secured if media reports are to be believed.

The 26-year-old midfielder is a product of the Southampton Academy and has enjoyed spells with Port Vale and AFC Wimbledon in the lower tiers of English football.

He registered 16 goals and eight assists in 82 matches for Port Vale.

Chiefs leave for their pre-season tour of the Netherlands on Thursday and will aim to have the majority of their new acquisitions with them.
