In case you missed it, former Mamelodi Sundowns star Junior Mendieta is back in Greece for a second spell. Here's a look!
The story
Mendieta has returned to the Greek top flight, this time with Asteras Tripolis.
It’s not his first stint in Greece, as he previously spent six months at Volos FC immediately after leaving Sundowns in July 2024.

Before joining Asteras this month, Mendieta also played in the Saudi Arabian second division with Al-Faisaly, where he was managed by former AmaZulu head coach Pablo Franco Martin.
At Al-Faisaly, the now 32-year-old featured in 15 matches and scored just four goals.
Nevertheless, Mendieta seems to be enjoying Greece as a place to ply his trade — and who can blame him, given the respectable standard of their league, which includes giants such as Olympiacos and AEK Athens.
Reacting to his recent move to Asteras, the former Stellenbosch FC Argentine star said: "Proud and grateful for this new chapter.
"Thank you to the club for trusting me and giving me the opportunity to defend these colours.
"[I'm here] with desire, commitment, and great excitement."
