What was seen of him in USA where he was one of only Chileans at the tournament has brought his name closer to those making selection decisions in the capital Santiago.

Chile is the only South American country which cannot qualify for the World Cup in the CONMEBOL region, where Argentina, Ecuador, and Brazil are already through.
La Roja have won only twice in 16 matches and now have Nicolas Cordova temporarily in charge.
Cordova – who has held various junior national team head coaching roles in Chile – will be in charge of the two remaining World Cup qualifiers on September 4 (Brazil) at the famous Maracana Stadium and then five days later at home to Uruguay.
Allende captained Chile’s U20 team but only has a single cap in the senior team.
He joined Sundowns from Uruguayan club Montevideo City Torque in a transfer estimated to have been in the region of R51 million and has been constantly on the field playing 33, 44, and 49 games in the first three seasons.
