He was 5yrs old when Shabba scored that goal!

Siphiwe Tshabalala’s recent encounter with French sensation Désiré Doué could be the link-up you didn’t know you needed. Here’s a look!

The story

Affectionately known as Shabba, the Bafana Bafana icon appears to be in the United States for the ongoing 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.

The former South African footballer is well-known in the global football world, thanks to his historic opening goal at the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

Shabba’s trip to the US has now seen him cross paths with Doué, one of the world’s most exciting young talents following an impressive debut season at Paris Saint-Germain.

Doué, who was just five years old when Tshabalala scored that screamer in 2010, is currently competing at the Club World Cup, as PSG prepare for a semi-final clash against Real Madrid.

Impressively, the youngster was recently named the 2024/25 UEFA Champions League Young Player of the Season, after helping the French giants to their first-ever European title.

Shabba and Doué shared a wholesome selfie, with the pair all smiles.

Doué’s PSG take on Real Madrid on Wednesday at 21:00 (South African time).
