Hits No Misses: Downs CWC alternative kit revealed

Having recently unveiled an impressive custom-designed kit, Mamelodi Sundowns are also expected to debut a fresh new alternative kit at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. Here’s a closer look.

The story

Downs recently revealed an impressively artistic special kit for the Club World Cup.

The stylish jersey comes courtesy of PUMA’s spectacular collaboration with KIDSUPER, a multidisciplinary art and fashion brand founded by Colm Dillane.

The jersey features Tshwane’s evening sky on the front, blending warm, sunlit tones with cooler shades to reflect the club’s signature style.

Its inspiration was capturing the rhythm, energy, and joy of Sundowns' football, known locally as “shoeshine and piano.”

That said, there’s another stunning new kit from Masandawana that you may not have seen yet.

Both the club and their outfitter PUMA have yet to formally unveil the new blue alternative kit.

However, during a FIFA photoshoot for the Club World Cup, Downs players were photographed wearing this alternative blue strip.

The kit features Tetris-like blocks in various shades of blue across the entire jersey. It also includes the club’s front sponsor, badge, and PUMA logo in yellow, and shares the same collar design as the KIDSUPER kit.

Details over it's official release remain unclear.
