Msimango is among those who missed out on competitive action towards the end of the 24/25 season due to a groin injury. Msimango missed Amakhosi's last five league matches of the season and the Nedbank Cup final, where Chiefs defeated rivals Orlando Pirates.

Speaking to the club's media this week, the defender provided an update on his injury.

"It feels good, firstly to be back, I went through quite a scary injury... But nothing that I have not experienced before," Msimango said, via the club's media department.

"So yeah, it kind of kept me off for two months, but now I am back, training well, recovering and regaining my strength.

"So it feels good to be back."
