Mamelodi Sundowns will be running down Marcelo Allende’s contract, putting the Chilean midfielder in firm position to become eligible for the localization route.
Allende will have completed five years upon the expiry of his deal at Sundowns.

This will then allow for him to apply for permanent residence which will allow for him to be registered as a non-foreign player.
Allende’s place for the new season is secure just like that of Arthur Sales while Lucas Ribeiro Costa is the subject of transfer possibilities.
Lucas Suarez has returned to his parent club in Argentina with his fellow countryman Matias Esquivel’s place not secure despite still having a running contract.
Allende has been in the headlines in recent days back home in Chile in matters relating to his return to the national team.
He also discussed his contract disclosing that Sundowns have exercised the option.
"The club exercised the option to renew my contract, and I remain a Mamelodi player.
"Now it's time to rest during the holidays, and we'll see what happens," said Allende in an interview with Redgol Futbol.
Allende’s contract was three years plus two option when he joined in a reported R51 million transfer from Uruguayan club Montevideo City Torque.
