The transformation of Kaizer Chiefs' new defender Thabiso Monyane is something that could have shocked Orlando Pirates, with the Naturena-based side's so-called gamble appearing to to have paid off.
Monyane is arguably Chiefs' best signing playing currently, with performances that could have won him Man of the Match awards against Stellenbosch FC, Polokwane City, and Richards Bay FC.

Pirates not renewing the their academy graduate's contract could have been influenced by the injuries he suffered, which limited the right wingback to a mere 12 appearances in all competitions in 2024/25.
The 25-year-old has fought to claim the starting berth in his position at at Naturena, playing from start to finish against Stellenbosch and Richards Bay, while he put in a 69-minute shift against Rise and Shine before being replaced by Reeve Frosler.
"He has not put a foot wrong. He could have easily been Man of the Match (against Richards Bay). I'm happy for him, he has settled very well. It seems like the fans love him," enthused Amakhosi legend Tsepo Masilela said on SoccerBeat YouTube Channel.
